Driver facing DUI after crash

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence ( DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 3:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, in the area of 511 Red Ridge Road, in North Union Township.

State police at Frackville said Michael Bodner, 32, of Zion Grove, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Z-71 Silverado truck northbound when he said he "thinks" he fell asleep. The truck left the road and hit an embankment along the berm, then damaged a mailbox and garbage bin.Bodner sustained facial injuries but refused medical treatment. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.He was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, where he submitted to a blood test.Troopers said the DUI charge is pending the test results.
