Pike County driver facing DUI count

A Dingmans Ferry, Pike County, man faces charges following a May 4 incident in Tamaqua.

Patrolman Joseph Krebs was monitoring traffic at the Five Points intersection at 12:30 p.m. when he observed a yellow Mitsubishi traveling north on Center Street. The driver proceeded through the intersection, driving north on SR309 (Railroad Street) which becomes a one-way street, going south, at that intersection.Krebs initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Jeremy Boris Mirabito, 30. Mirabito had glassy eyes and said he didn't know where the vehicle registration and insurance papers were, as it wasn't his car.He failed several field sobriety tests and faces charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of a controlled substance and driving the wrong way on a one-way lane of traffic.
