The Carbon County Planning Commission released the third part of its recreation and open space plan, including plans fora hospitality center proposed at the interchange of Interstate Highway 80 (Lake Harmony) and the Pocono Interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. It is estimated that the county will attract an estimated 500,000 tourists by 1980. These vacationers will probably be heading for places outside Carbon County, but could be persuaded to visit here if they were made aware of what the region has to offer.
