Ground was broken today for the 26th Laneco store at the Tidewood East Industrial Park, Hometown, Tamaqua R. 2. Ray A. Bartolacci, president and chairman of Laneco, said construction would begin at the store is to be completed by the fall of this year. The $5 million, 150,000 square foot complex will contain a Laneco food and department store that will occupy 97,000 square feet, with the remaining space to be used for 14 smaller stores. The structure will be located off Route 309.
