Powder puff benefit held in Tamaqua

Girls played football while members of the Tamaqua Raider football team coached during the annual Powder Puff benefit held recently at the Tamaqua Sports stadium to defray costs of student field trips and support a number of other charities.

The benefit, hosted yearly by the Tamaqua High School Biology Club, involved female students from each high school class trying for the Powder Puff championship.In the end, the seniors won against the juniors, 21-8.The event was under the supervision of Roseann Weinrich, biology teacher, who expressed her appreciation to all the spectators and students who got involved to help support the cause.
