A Carbon County man was jailed on Saturday, May 25, for assault.

State police at Lehighton said they were dispatched about 10:30 a.m. to 84 Deer View Drive, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, for a reported domestic dispute. Upon investigation troopers said Mark Wayne Ashley, 52, of that address, was taken into custody for domestic violence and charged with simple assault. He allegedly assaulted his wife, Rosanne Marie Ashley.Ashley was arraigned before on-call District Judge Edward Lewis, of Jim Thorpe, and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning after failing to post bail.
