Woman hospitalized after off-road vehicle flips in Schuylkill Township

An unidentified woman is hospitalized after an being partially pinned below an off-road tour vehicle Sunday in Schuylkill Township.

Rescue crews were called to the rocky mountains just west of Tamaqua (alongside US209) after a Pinzgauer, an all-terrain military vehicle, operated by All Terrain Pinzgauer Tours, flipped on its side with a group of tour riders inside. Emergency crews utilized an inflatable bag to lift the vehicle off of the woman.A PennSTAR helicopter landed at the Tamaqua Middle School parking lot to transport the woman to the St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. Officials on scene stated the woman suffered a concussion and was still hospitalized Monday.Responding were firefighters from Tamaqua, New England and Tuscarora. Also responding were Tamaqua Rescue, Tamaqua Ambulance and Tamaqua Fire Police.It is unknown if any other passengers were injured. No more information was available as of press time.
