They were married June 22, 2002.Tax suitTamaqua Area School District filed a petition in court to enter a judgement against Brandon L. and April M. Ebert, of 2413 Lizzard Creek, Andreas, West Penn Township, claiming they owe $989.82 in back school tax on their property at 162 Spruce St., Tamaqua.Sue over homeApex Mortgage Corporation, Fort Washington, filed suit to have Elaine M. Hoppes and Stephen Goroshki turn over the property at 517 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. The mortgage company claims it purchased the property at a sheriff's sale last January and is now asking the court to exclude the defendants from the premises.Credit card suitPortfolio Recovery Associats, LLC, Norfolk, Va., filed suit against William Price, 773 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, alleging he has defaulted on payments on his credit card account and seek judgment for $1,313.01 plus interest and costs.Deny firearm returnRonald Joseph Weiss, 48, Pottsville, lost his bid to regain firearms confiscated by state police when he was arrested on charges he was not allowed to own firearms.Weiss pleaded guilty to the charge in May 2012 and was placed on probation for 36 months. In his petition he claims the weapons were not contraband and should be returned to the owner. Following a hearing, Judge John E. Damalakes denied the petition.Gambled, lostJames Shappell, Saint John's St., Schuylkill Haven, was awarded damages of $3,7671.51 by a board of arbitration stemming from an accident suit in which his truck was struck in the rear by a car driven by Heather Shappell, 24 E. William St., Schuylkill Haven, no relation, on Saint John Street.Shappell was not satisfied with the award and took his case before a jury. The jury ruled Heather Shappell was not negligent and awarded him no damages.Drop theft chargeEdward John Flaim,19, of 22 Vulcan Road, Barnesville, had criminal charges dismissed because his mother, victim of a car theft, no longer wished to prosecute, however, he faces new charges related to illegal drugs.On motion of District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon to nolle prosequi a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle owned by his mother because she no longer wished to prosecute, was granted by President Judge William E. Baldwin after a hearing.Flaim had been placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program by Judge John E. Domalakes because he was a first offender to a non violent criminal charge but it was revoked when he vilolated the terms of the probation because of a new arrest. He now faces drug charges filed by Mahanoy City police.Drop bench warrantErica L. Neff, who was arrested on a bench warrant after failing to appear in court last September to select a jury for her trial for alleged theft of a set of golf clubs and a digital camera belonging to Milton James Drum, of 26 Catawissa Street, Tuscarora, Schuylkill Township, received a hearing in court in which the bench warrant was dissolved by Judge Charles M. Miller and bail set at $10,000 percentage cash.The court ordered when released on bail she shall reside at 150 South Blake Drive, Lake Harmony, and must not relocate without written prior consent from the district attorney; shall not possess nor consume alcoholic beverages, controlled substances or drug paraphernalia; shall not travel outside the state without permission from the district attorney, and shall secure and maintain gainful employment within 30 days.Bail hearingsSenior Judge D. Michael Stine held bail hearings and made the following rulings:Susan Dower, 41, Shenandoah, had bail set at $5,000 unsecured and must reside at 506 W. Popular St., Shenandoah, and must not relocate without written permission from court. She faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia filed by Shenandoah Patrolman Michael O'Neill.Edward J. Simon, 45. Mahanoy City, had his bail revoked and he was remanded to the county prison to await trial on charges of retail theft, simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct filed by Mahanoy City Officer Robert Romanick.Set high bailJamielynn Reilly, 36, of 885 Center St., Sheppton, East Union Township, after a hearing had her bail set at $150,000 straight cash by Senior Judge D. Michael Stine with conditions she must reside at 126 N. White St., Shenandoah, shall not relocate without prior court approval, shall have no contact with the victims, and is not permitted to travel outside the state boundary without court permission.Reilly was charged by County Detective Dennis Clark with two counts each of criminal solicitation to commit criminal homicide and criminal conspiracy and one count of criminal solicitation to commit burglary.According to information filed to court the county detective claims he posed as a hit man and she wanted to hire him to kill two Sheppton residents.Reduce bailJoseph R. Angst Sr., 46, of 23 Main St., Middleport, had his bail modified by Judge James P. Goodman from percentage cash to $10,000 unsecured and he must have no contact with the victim. He was cited by Trooper Thomas Powell for simple assault.
