Electronic recycling

ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Due to new DEP regulations, Tamaqua, like many other communities, is no longer able to place old electronic devices out for curbside pick up on trash day. They are also not allowed to drop them off at the Transfer Station. To alleviate the hardship this has caused Advanced Green Solutions Inc. of Walnutport to hold a number of local recycling drop-off events throughout our area. During the events, items can be dropped-off at no cost. Such items, consist of televisions, telephones, cell phones, keyboards, cables, cords, CRT monitors, copiers, printers, fax machines, stereos, speakers, DVD players, VCRs, video game systems, LCD monitors, word processors, hard drives, desktop/laptop computers and other miscellaneous electronics equipment. For more information about their next drop-off event, visit them online at agrecycling.com or call (610) 767-2577. Piles and piles of electronics sit at the Tamaqua Transfer during an electronics recycling drop-off event held recently.
