DUI arrests

State police at Lehighton reported on the following driving under the influence (DUI) arrests.

Troopers said Gerard Robert Nicholas, 21, of Kunkletown, was stopped about 8:04 p.m. on May 15 along Dorshimer Road, at the Middle Creek Cemetery, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.Nolan Michael Zeigler, 19, of Tamaqua, was stopped on May 17, no time listed, along SR903, near Maury Road, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence of a suspected controlled substance. Charges will be filed, troopers said.A vehicle stop about 6:57 p.m. on Friday, May 17, at a sobriety checkpoint along Maury Road, south of SR903, in Penn Forest Township, resulted in charges pending against three people. Charles John Wells, 21, of Mountain Top, was the driver and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI of a controlled substance.Two passengers, Christopher John Papsun, 23, and Ellen Davin Supko, 20, both of Mountain Top, were found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Charges will be filed.Thomas Krum, 24, of Hazle Township, was stopped about 8 p.m. at the same checkpoint. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and placed under arrest. A passenger, Kristin D. Clark, 20, of Harrisburg, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and was placed under arrest. Charges will be filed.
