The Tamaqua Safety Initiative will host a landlord/property management training session twice on May 30. Times will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St."Big Time Crime: A Strategy for Small Cities and Towns" will be presented through the generosity of LISC - Local Initiatives Support Corporation, which is dedicated to helping neighbors build communities.Featured speaker will be Timothy Vance of Housing Crimes Consultants, Inc. To alleviate the hardship this has caused, Advanced Green Solutions Inc. will hold a free electronic recycling event from 8 a.m. until noon on May 18 at the Tamaqua Transfer Station, 20 Sewer Plant Road, Tamaqua.Items to be collected and recycled include: televisions, telephones, cell phones, keyboards, cables, cords, CRT monitors, copiers, printers, fax machines, stereos, speakers, DVD players, VCRs, video game systems, LCD monitors, word processors, hard drives, desktop/laptop computers and other miscellaneous electronics equipment.For more information, call (570) 668-4515.Zion LewistownThe Rev.
