Stamp Our HungerThe Summit Hill Post Office will be participating in the 21st "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive on May 11. As prior years, residents are instructed to place nonperishable food item donations in their mailboxes to be picked up by their regular carriers.CoaldaleSons of the American LegionThe Sons of the American Legion will hold their monthly meeting at the Coaldale American Legion on Saturday, May 11 at 10 a.m. followed by the collection of retired American flags.Nominations of officers will also take place at the meeting. All members are urged to attend.First Congregational ChurchMothers will be honored at the 9 a.m. service Sunday, March 12, at First Congregational Church. Children and youth of the church will participate in the service. Sunday School will be held at 10 a.m.The church board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 13.On Wednesday, May 15, Kids Klub and Adult Bible Study will both be held at 6 p.m. Choir rehearsal is scheduled for 7 p.m.Upcoming events include the following:Rehearsal for the Memorial Service Community Choir will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 23. All are welcome to join this group.The Memorial Day Service will be conducted at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 26. All veterans will be honored and the Community Choir will take part in the service.Vacation Bible School will be held June 24-28. Children ages 3 to 18 are invited to attend.Reservations should be made as soon as possible by calling (570) 645-9426.NesquehoningCrime Watch meeting canceledThe Nesquehoning Crime Watch meeting that was scheduled for May 13 is canceled and will be rescheduled for Thursday, June 20 at 7 p.m. in the Borough Hall. The guest speaker for the evening will be State Trooper Shannon Yorke from the Hazleton Barracks.
