Slatington 150th Anniversary Committee plans new history book

In 2014, the Borough of Slatington will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its incorporation. Plans are under way for a weeklong celebration in August of next year. To help commemorate the anniversary, the history committee of Slatington 150 is planning on printing a history book.The book will include family histories, photos, profiles on notable residents, businesses, sports history and additional history of the town not included in the Slatington and Surrounding Communities book, which was printed in 1989 as part of the town's 125th anniversary celebration.The committee is looking for people to submit old photos, postcards, family histories and anecdotes to be included in the new book.Persons interested in submitting information may upload it to the committee's Facebook page, Slatington 150 History Committee, or email
