Barbara and Miles Knappenberger Sr. of Lehighton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday. They were married on May 4, 1963 in The Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion in Philadelphia by the late Rev. William O. Moyer.

Mrs. Knappenberger is the daughter of the late William S. and Jean (Moyer) Peters of Weissport. Her husband is the son of the late Miles H. and Lorraine (Getz) Knappenberger of Long Run, Franklin Township.The Knappenbergers have five children: Miles Jr. and his wife Jackie; Lorraine, wife of Rodney Snyder Jr.; and William, all of Lehighton; Jamie Lynn, wife of Brad Horn of Slatington; and Michael of Scranton.They have five grandchildren: Sarah and Samantha Snyder, Brad Lee Horn, and William and Camaron Knappenberger.
