A Carbon County driver has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) following a one-vehicle crash. Jim Thorpe police said the accident occurred on March 23 about 3:05 p.m. in the area of 625 Lentz Trail

Police were dispatched to the scene and found a Volkswagen Jetta sedan partially in a drainage ditch near the entrance to the Mauch Chunk Lake boat launch.The driver was identified as Joshua M. Fabiani, 33, of 1126 Center St., Jim Thorpe.He was found to be under the influence. Police also seized at the scene a suspected marijuana cigarette and several other items used for smoking.Fabiani admitted to smoking the suspected marijuana while driving. Fabiani submitted to a blood test that showed the presence of marijuana.Fabiani has been charged with DUI of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors, and a summary offense of careless driving.
