Carbon County commissioners on Thursday proclaimed May 4 as Carbon County Safe Kids Day. On that day, an event hosted by state Sen. John Yudichak will be held beginning at 10 a.m. at Mauch Chunk Lake Park, along Lentz Trail. The day will be filled with fun, games, and learning. There will be simulated rescue demonstrations, food, giveaways and information. The event will be held rain or shine.
