A 36-year-old Tamaqua man was cited following an incident at the Family Dollar Store, 137 N. Railroad St., Tamaqua.

Police were dispatched to the retail store at 4:12 p.m. on April 21 after a male allegedly stole a pack of batteries from the store. Officers were given a description of the male, the dog he was walking and his direction of travel.Within minutes, Patrolman Matthew Houser found a man fitting the description and identified him as Torrey Starling Mueller of 22 Green St., Tamaqua.A witness confirmed he was the person who took the batteries.He was cited for retail theft.
