Rep. Julie Harhart (R-Lehigh/Northampton) will offer her monthly veterans outreach hours in her Slatington district office on Thursday, May 2.

During the special hours, a veterans outreach specialist from the American Legion in Wilkes-Barre will be available to meet with local veterans and assist them with issues they may be having accessing benefits and services from the U.S. Veterans Affairs."I encourage area veterans to make use of this unique one-on-one service to help them navigate the sometimes complex VA system," said Harhart. "I appreciate the American Legion offering this service and have been getting a great response from those who have made use of it."The veterans outreach specialist is available the first Thursday of each month on alternating months at Harhart's Northampton or Slatington district offices. May's visit will be held on Thursday, May 2 at the Slatington district office, Slatington Borough Hall, 125 S. Walnut St., on the first floor, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.Appointments are necessary.
