A visit from the mobile dentist

ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS

Staff with Blue Mountain Health System's Mobile Dental Clinic spent time recently providing free dental care to students at PathStone Child and Family Development in Coaldale. The Blue Mountain Health System Mobile Dental Clinic, based out of Carbon County, now serves more than 1,500 students in over 30 regional schools, including the Tamaqua Area School District. Youngsters up to age 18 who are signed up for the mobile dental clinic's services will go to appointments during school hours. Appointments are also available during the summer. That's welcome news for dental care in the region, which expands for those with ACCESS cards or government insurances not accepted by dental offices. Dental Hygienist Karen Kroboth uses a character puppet to teach William Davies, 4, how to brush teeth.
