Yogurt City specializes in self-service dining

Make it, take it.

That's essentially the concept at Yogurt City, where variety really is the spice of life.Located at 472 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, the business specializes in self-serve frozen yogurt. How it works is a customer grabs a cup, picks a flavor and toppings, and weighs it on the scale. At present, customers have 10 choices of flavors to pick from, according to Dennis Yeung, who owns the business along with his father, Kin Yeung.Dennis, who noted the business offers free Wi-Fi capability, said he believes there's a need for a yogurt shop in town."We thought it would be a place for students, and families with kids [to come]," Yeung said. "They're glad a yogurt shop is open here."Located at the site of the original Hunan House Chinese Restaurant, the business opened this past Monday to much fanfare, Yeung said."It's been mostly all positive," he said. "Everybody likes it, and they like the variety."Kin Yeung noted that all the fruit is fresh, and the yogurt very healthy. The business will hold a Grand Opening on Saturday, at which time all yogurt items will be free.Yogurt City is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11-9 on Sunday. For more information, contact them at
