April 19, 2001 Gerry Washack tosses a one-hitter to lead Pleasant Valley to a 4-1 Mountain Valley Conference win over Parkland in a battle of unbeaten teams. Washack strikes out five and the run he allows is unearned. The Bears, coached by Jeff Kashner, use a three-run fifth inning to pull out the victory. Justin Kashner finishes with two hits and knocks in a pair of runs while Chad Stecker adds a hit and two runs scored.
