A Coaldale man was arrested after a violent fight with his wife.

Brian L. Breiner, 46, of 229 W. Early Ave., is charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, and harassment stemming from an altercation with Deann Breiner.According to an affidavit of probable cause, here's what happened:On April 11, Chief Timothy Delaney received a call from Schuylkill County 911 to go to 229 W. Early Ave. for a domestic dispute, with the couple fighting in the street.Upon arrival he saw Brian and Deann yelling at each other. Deann was then standing to the rear of her vehicle and Brian was standing at the driver's side door. There was a claw hammer between the driver's side door and the roof.Deann told Delaney she believed Brian was trying to get into her car, which she owns, and that Brian thought she was running around on him. Brian told Delaney that Deann had grabbed his arm, sinking her fingernails into his skin, causing it to bleed.Brian told police Deann was trying to stop him from damaging her vehicle. He said he kicked her right leg, which was swollen and bruised. Brian was arrested.
