The American Board of Wound Healing (ABWH) has announced that Edward Beckett, DPM has recently obtained certification in wound care.

The ABWH most recently offered its Physician Certification exams in Las Vegas, NV, in conjunction with the Clinical Symposium on Advances in Skin and Wound Care. This specialized certification is granted to physicians who have demonstrated an advanced knowledge in the field of wound care, and have provided documentation of their excellence and leadership in this field of medicine.Beckett has been the Wound Care Medical Director at Blue Mountain Health System for the past five years.He is a graduate of Temple University and was Board Certified by the American Board of Wound Healing, a Diplomate as a Wound Care Specialist of the American Board of Wound Management and a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association.The ABWH serves to maintain and improve the quality of wound management by evaluating professional, clinical and educational standards of practice by using an examination process which is designed to assess the medical knowledge, judgment, professionalism and clinical skills required to provide quality patient care in the fields of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.The ABWH currently offers three areas for certification: Physician Certification in Wound Care, Physician Certification in Hyperbaric Medicine, and Certified Hyperbaric and Wound Specialist (CHWS) Certification.The intent of the initial certification and the maintenance of certification of wound management specialists in the United States and internationally is to provide assurance to the public that a clinician who has been granted a Certificate of Added Qualification has demonstrated high levels of clinical competence.
