Slatington Library to present second Wellness program

The Slatington Public Library will be presenting the second program in their Community Wellness Lecture series entitled, "Alcohol Use and Abuse: Just the Facts."

The lecture will be presented by Howard Cook Jr. R. Ph, on Tuesday, April 16, at 7 p.m. at the library, 650 Main Street, Slatington.It will focus on the public health impact of alcohol use and abuse, and provide insight into methods of avoiding abuse and confronting its use.Ethanol, commonly known as alcohol, found in beer, wine and spirits (like whiskey, gin, scotch, vodka, etc.) is a psychoactive drug that has a depressant effect.Alcohol, consumed across cultures, often used to help and promote social interaction, is popular, generally accepted and legal.The Community Wellness Lectures are sponsored by Bechtel's Pharmacy, Inc. 302 Main Street, Slatington.Come join the library for an educational and enjoyable evening.
