Sign-up sheets were available at the April 1 meeting of the Polk Township Historical Society for people to volunteer to help at the 250th anniversary celebration to be held at the West End Fairgrounds on Sept. 7.

Committees include planning, publicity, book review, sponsor solicitation, games, parking and the parade.President Norman Burger, who was not present, had forwarded prices for new metal doors for the bake oven, which was brought from the Jonas Hotel and is being repaired. He said he found a source of new brick that appeared old.
