Schuylkill driver facing charges

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, along SR924, 100 feet north of Shenandoah, in West Mahanoy Township.

State police at Frackville said Wayne Warner, of Ringtown, was driving a 2007 Ford Mustang northbound when his vehicle left the road and struck an embankment, PennDOT road sign, and a tree stump.Warner, troopers said, exited the vehicle and fled on foot returning to his home. He was later located and showed signs of intoxication and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test.Troopers said the DUI charge is pending the blood test results. Warner also faces several summary motor vehicle code violations.Troopers ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident to call them at (570) 874-5300.
