Jam for Cancer, Monster Ball raise $5,000 for ACS

The Fourth Annual Jam For Cancer event was held Friday night at the Pine Street Pub in Tamaqua. In addition to raffling off a flat screen television, pool cue and other prizes, visitors were treated to free music by bands Blowing Smoke, Bwahaha, Jay and Del and Modern Day Mollies. Jason DeMarco, event organizer, stated his appreciation to all the bands and visitors. In addition, DeMarco organized a Monster Ball at Hang Loose late last year. The total donations raised during both events totaled $5,000, which was announced during this weekend's ACS Telethon at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe.
