State police at Lehighton are investigating an incident in which a Carbon County man was the victim of a scam.

Troopers said James Hunsicker, of Jim's Auto Repair, located at 865 Interchange Rd., Lehighton, reported to them that he got scammed from a transaction via "Craigs List."Subsequently, Hunsicker cashed a check that was mailed to him. The criminals requested that he Western Union the funds back, which he did, however, the original check was then cancelled by the criminals.Hunsicker lost $2,950 as a result of the transaction, troopers said.
