Waterline work on Lombard Street

ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Tamaqua Fire Police volunteered their time redirected school buses and local traffic around Lombard Street in Tamaqua yesterday. The street, which leads to the Tamaqua Elementary School, had to be closed for replacement of new water lines for one of the homes on the block. Lombard was closed for about nine hours while crews dug up the road and created a trench to replace a rusted 75 foot long, 4 inch wide pipe with PVC pipe. Tamaqua Fire Police prevent detour school and local traffic past the St. Jerome's cemetery to reach the school.
