Three defendants ready for trial, change minds, plead guilty

Three defendants summoned to select juries for their trial in Schuylkill County court Thursday, changed their minds and entered guilty pleas and will be sentenced at a later date.

Kristian Allen Carl, 29. Pottsville, pleaded guilty to charges of delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. He was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers, last May 7.David John Kupusnick, 38, Minersville, pleaded guilty to charges of delivery of a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy. He was cited by Patrolman Bowers on April 13, 2012.John Arthur Gallalgher Jr., 58, Scotrun, Monroe County, pleaded guilty to passing two bad checks to Top Guns, Builtwell Road, North Manheim Township. He was cited by Trooper Timothy J. Rymarkiewicz in October 2011.Judge Charles M. Miller accepted the guilty pleas but deferred sentencing to Thursday, May 9, and ordered a presentence investigative (PSI) report prepared by the adult probation department.More than 200 prospective jurors were brought in Thursday for jury selection for criminal cases. Trials will begin Monday.
