That local residents are interested in securing trees to beautify their properties was evident when 500 Douglas fir seedlings, purchased by the Women's Club of Jim Thorpe, were distributed in six minutes in the lot of C & D Motors, Susquehanna Street. Eighty persons were in the waiting line that formed prior to the distribution at 2 p.m. Five seedlings were given to each person until the supply was exhausted. Distribution was confined to members of the club and residents of the community.
