Several arrests of DUI reported

State police at Lehighton reported on several arrests for driving under the influence (DUI) made by troopers recently.

On March 26 about 9:31 p.m. troopers stopped Nicholas A. Hadley, 26, of Kunkletown, along Gilbert Road, east of Long Mountain Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest, troopers said.About 11:17 p.m. on March 26 troopers said Cheri D. Hoffman, 40, of Saylorsburg, drove her car into a ditch in the area of 839 Kunkletown Road, in Eldred Township, Monroe County. She was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest, troopers said.On March 27 about 8:44 p.m. troopers stopped James C. Kirchner, 24, of Saylorsburg, along SR209, north of SR534, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.Also on March 27 about 9 p.m. troopers stopped Faith Spiker, 24, of Palmerton, at Mauch Chunk and Franklin sts., in Palmerton, for a traffic violation. She was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, troopers said, and was taken to a hospital for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers added.On March 28 about 12:50 a.m. troopers stopped Christian Lee Durbin, 24, of Bethlehem, along Blue Mountain Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County, for vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, troopers said, and placed under arrest.At 12:56 a.m. on March 28 troopers stopped Thomas Vincent Connors, 48, of Kunkletown, along Meixell Valley Road, near Weir Lake Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI.At 4:26 p.m. on March 28 troopers stopped Keith Richard McCarty, 20, of Lehighton, along SR209 at Wentz Auto, in Franklin Township, Carbon County, for several moving traffic violations. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and placed under arrest, troopers said.At 9:16 p.m. on March 28 troopers stopped Kevin Martin Newton, 34, of Emmaus, along SR248 eastbound in Palmerton from several moving violations. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was placed under arrest.About 2:05 a.m. on March 30 troopers stopped Diego Armando Perez, 28, of Saylorsburg, along SR209 in Chestnuthill Township, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.At 3:35 a.m. on March 30 troopers stopped Matthew M. Murphy, 20, of Cresco, along SR209 in the area of Chestnut Lane, in Chestnuthill Township, for traffic violations. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest and taken to the county DUI center for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers added.
