Alberto Chavier Tavarez, 21, of San Pedro, Calif., was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks at 11:26 a.m. March 30.

Police said he was stopped on Interstate 80 eastbound in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County, for a traffic violation.he was taken into custody after police discovered he was under the influence of a controlled substance.
