Benefit concert held for Carbon-Tamaqua ACS Telethon

Volunteers held a benefit concert and bake sale over the weekend at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center to benefit the Carbon-Tamaqua ACS Telethon.

The concert was free and any donations given went directly to the telethon, planned for this Saturday and Sunday.Members of the band "3 PM" donated their time for the event. The proceeds from the event will be presented during the annual ACS Telethon set for April 6 and 7 at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe.In addition to being broadcasted live on BRC TV-13 and Service Electric Cable TV (channel 90), photos from the event will be posted every 20-30 minutes on the Cancer Telethon's Facebook page

For sale during the benefit was a large cake guitar made out of chocolate cupcakes, icing and chocolate bars. It was made and donated by Beth Kester for the benefit. It sold fast.
