Slip, slide, sold!

That proved to be quite the recipe for success for Blue Mountain Health System, which received a $20,000 check donation from Blue Mountain Ski Area.On Wednesday, Barbara Green, owner of the ski area, presented the check to Andrew Harris, BMHS president and CEO, in the third floor conference room of the Palmerton campus.The check was from proceeds from Blue Mountain Health System's Annual Auction and Carbon County Ski Night, which was held back in January at the ski area.Green said the event proved to be a success due to the "local people" who attended the event, which enabled the ski area to donate the proceeds to BMHS.Joe Guardiani, BMHS director of Fund Development, thanked the ski area, as well as the residents of Carbon County, for their support.As per the event, residents of Carbon County and the surrounding counties could purchase a ski/boarding/tubing lift pass for only $20, compared to the normal pass cost of $34.The pass was valid that evening from 4 p.m. until the ski area closed at midnight, which was two hours longer than their normal operating hours. Nearly 800 people took advantage of the lift pass offer.Other activities that were held that evening were a Chinese raffle, silent auction and a live auction . Entertainment was provided by Becky and the Beasts in the Vista Lodge.The ski area donated all the proceeds from the lift pass sales that evening to BMHS.
