Spring recess

Pleasant Valley School will dismiss early Wednesday, March 27, at 12:25 p.m. for the spring recess, and is scheduled to resume Tuesday, April 2.Rotary speakerBarry Dawson of West End Supporter will be the speaker at the Thursday, March 28, meeting of the West End Rotary Club. The club meets at 7:30 a.m. at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville.Band Parents meetPleasant Valley Band Parents are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 4, at the high school in Brodheadsville.Holy Week ServicesSt. Peter's UMC, Saylorsburg, will hold a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m., with Communion.On Easter Sunday, the church will have an Easter Sunrise service at 6:45 a.m. in the parking lot, followed by breakfast. The regular Easter worship service will be held at 10 a.m.Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville will hold Maundy Thursday Services at 7:30 p.m., with the sacrament of Holy Communion and the stripping of the altar.On Good Friday the worship service at Zion will also be at 7:30 p.m.And on Easter Sunday, services will be held at 6, 8 and 10 a.m. with Holy Communion.Our Lady Queen of Peace Church's schedule includes no 8 a.m. or 12:10 p.m. Mass on Holy Thursday, but an 8 a.m. Morning Prayer and a 7 p.m. Mass of the Lord's Supper and a 11 p.m. Night Prayer time.On Good Friday, March 29, there is no 8 a.m. or 12:10 p.m. Mass but an 8 a.m. Morning Prayer and a 7 p.m. Celebration of the Lord's Passion. The church will hold an Easter Vigil on Saturday at 8 p.m. (No 5 p.m. Mass or confessions) and Mass on Sunday at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon (please note time change), and a Spanish Mass at 1:30 p.m.Additionally, the church will hold a Basket Blessing at 1 p.m. Saturday and an egg hunt at 2 p.m.Effort United Methodist will hold a special service on Maundy Thursday, beginning with a shared meal of bread and soup and a service to follow at 7 p.m.On Good Friday there will be a special service at 7 p.m.Easter Sunday offers a sunrise service at 7 a.m. and regular services at 8:30 and 11 a.m.PIC work dayPride in Chestnuthill (PIC) has set its spring cleanup days. Weather permitting the first clean up will be April 6, beginning at 7 a.m., with the group meeting at the township municipal building, Route 715.
