Skippy Dietz Rabies Clinic set for April 13

The 18th annual Skippy Dietz Rabies Clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad Building, 105 Lake Drive, Lake Harmony.

Shots for both dogs and cats will be available for $10 a shot. All animals must be in a cage or on a leash.The clinic is dedicated to the memory of Sandi Dietz. Sandi spearheaded this clinic to combat rabies. Rabies in vaccinated animals is rare. Vaccination and education continues to be the most effective weapon in combating rabies.Carbon County Treasurer Ron Sheehan will be on hand to sell dog licenses. Applications for Monroe County will also be available. It is the law that all dogs three months and older must have a dog license. Dog licenses are also available by calling the County Treasurer's office.Dr. Sharon Lachette of the White Haven Veterinary Hospital has again agreed to donate her time to administer the inoculation.It has been over four years since Sandi's passing and spearheading this program 19 years ago. It takes everyone continuing in helping with the program grow to make it a success to conquer rabies in years to come.The rescue squad building is located 1.4 miles west of Route 903, next to Shenanigans Restaurant.
