Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating a burglary and a theft for vehicle incident.

The break-in occurred at a residence at 2531 Penn Hills Rd., in Bartonsville, Jackson Township, Monroe County. Entry was gained through a basement window by breaking a glass.Once inside the criminals removed seven bottles of wine. The incident was reported on Saturday, March 16. The property is owned by Emmy Traub, 83, of Flushing, N.Y.Marland Peters, 83, of 2 Apple Lane, Effort, Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, reported her 1995 Dodge Caravan had been entered while parked near her residence. The unlocked vehicle was entered sometime overnight of March 16-17.Removed was a car battery and a tool box filled with assorted tools.Troopers also reported on a criminal mischief incident. Brett A. Shermans, 22, reported someone damaged the front driver's side window on his 1999 Lincoln Town Car while parked at his residence, 182 Darcy Drive, Saylorsburg, Chestnuthill Township. The incident occurred sometime between 1 and 9 a.m. on March 15.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (570) 646-2271.
