Matthew J. Nicosia, 45, of 421 North St., Jim Thorpe, is facing numerous charges stemming from a motor vehicle accident that happened at 3:30 a.m. Dec. 15 on Route 903 (Kattner's Mountain) in Jim Thorpe.

Police said he is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while operating privileges are suspended and/or revoked, driver required to be licensed, careless driving and failure to give notice of accident to police.Police said they responded to a one-vehicle crash on Route 903 and while en route observed Nicosia walking along the roadway. He was transported to the scene of the crash, where police found a 2002 Saturn sedan with disabling damages. Police said Nicosia admitted to being the driver of the vehicle.Police said he displayed signs of impairment and was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. He refused to submit to a blood test. Police said a record's check later revealed the man's license is suspended.
