A Lehigh County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a crash that occurred about 5:04 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, along Independent Road (SR863), in Weisenberg Township.

State police at Fogelsville said Geno J. Nardini, 39, of Breinigsville, was driving a 2000 GMC Jimmy southbound and attempting to negotiate a left curve when the vehicle went onto the right berm. Nardini attempted to correct his movement and struck a parked 2003 Dodge Ram truck, troopers said.The Jimmy then returned to the road, crossed both lanes of travel, and struck a dirt embankment off the left shoulder. At this point the vehicle overturned and came to rest on its passenger side facing southwest in the northbound lane.Nardini was injured and taken by Cetronia ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he was admitted in stable condition, troopers said. The accident report indicates he is facing a DUI charge.
