Brandon Moyer 24, of Pottsville, was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, following his arraignment on charges of theft of a motor vehicle.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said he was arraigned before District Justice David Plachko of Port Carbon, who set bail at $25,000.Police said the charges relate to a crime that happened between midnight and 1:15 a.m. March 15 in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street in Mechanicsville. Police said it is alleged Moyer and another individual stole a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta owned by Karen Adams, 39, of Seltzer. The vehicle was eventually involved in a collision on Peach Mountain Road in Norweigan Township.Police said the investigation is continuing.
