Members of the 1964 class of Jim Thorpe High School will gather at the Jim Thorpe/Penn Kidder Senior Center, Route 903 and Behrens Road, on Thursday, March 21. Friends may gather around 10 a.m. There will be a lunch available for a minimal fee. The final session will be held on Wednesday, March 27. These weekly sessions follow the events of Holy Week through and including the crucifixion and descent.Women's Bible studyThe Women's Ecumenical Bible study class will be held on Thursday, March 21 at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Joan DeAcetis is the leader of the group, which is studying the Book of Acts.Community dinnerSt. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street, will host its free community dinner on Sunday, March 24, from 4-6 p.m. The menu for this month is the Easter ham dinner. The Sunday School cordially invites all parishioners to a Palm Sunday breakfast on Sunday, March 24, at 9:45 a.m. The breakfast is free. Parents are encouraged to join their children for Sunday school, as there will be a special program for the children involving a project the junior and senior youths have prepared.A Maundy Thursday dinner is being planned for March 28 in the fellowship hall. It is being called the Moravian Love Feast and will be served at 6 p.m. Reservations are needed so that the proper amount of food can be prepared. Reservations are due by Palm Sunday and may be made by calling David Remmel.
