A Schuyulkill Haven man will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol as a result of a one-vehicle accident that happened at 4:53 a.m. March 16 along Meadow Drive in North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Timothy Miller, 28, was arrested after the crash.Police said he was driving a 1994 Mazda B4000 northbound when he reached down in an attempt to locate a pack of cigarettes. Police said his vehicle traveled onto the east berm and impacted a PPL utility pole, snapping it in half.The man was uninjured.Police said he was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and was asked but refused to submit to standardized field sobriety tests.He was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South, Pottsville, for a blood test to determine his blood-alcohol content.Police said the Mazda sustained moderate damages.
