Volunteers "knock down" cancer

ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Volunteers organized a bowling benefit recently, titled "Knock Down Cancer", in Hometown to raise donations for the Carbon/Tamaqua Unit of the American Cancer Society. During the event, prizes were awarded for high score, best dressed team, highest sponsorship and so on. Event coordinator Jessica Kutza of Coaldale stated her appreciation to all who participated or donated. The event also included an after-party, sponsored by Dan Matika, held at the Batters Box Sports Bar and Grille in Summit Hill. Taking part in the Irish and Easter themed event, are "CancerTelethon.org" team members, from left, MaryAnn Dulaney, Rick Peters and Kathy Dombrosky.
