Lehighton AMVETS, Elwood Miller Post 106, will meet at 3 p.m. March 17.Trinity happeningsTrinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will hold Fifth Sunday in Lent worship services with Holy Communion at 9 a.m. Coffee house fellowship follows.Sunday School Power Hour begins at 10:15 a.m. for ages 3 through grade 12. The adult class will not meet.The final midweek Wednesday worship is at noon March 20, followed by a soup lunch. Each Wednesday evening there will be a soup supper at 6 p.m., then "Holden Evening Prayer" worship at 7 p.m. Immediately following the 7 p.m. worship is a Lenten study based on the movie "Chocolat," reflecting on issues of grace, forgiveness and transformations Community Easter egg hunt will be held in Luther Hall Saturday, March 23. Children ages 1-6, from 1-2 p.m. Children ages 7-12, from 2-3 p.m. This is a free event. Please remember to bring a basket to collect the eggs.A Spring Cantata "Here is Love" by Larry Shakley will be performed by the church choir accompanied by a small orchestra, under the direction of choir director Susan Lovejoy, at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the church. This is a free event.Holy Week worship services: Palm Sunday March 24, with Holy Communion and distribution of palm fronds at 9 a.m. Sunday School Power Hour students will take part in a palm procession around the block, followed by themed-crafts in Luther Hall starting at 10:15. Maundy Thursday worship with Holy Communion will be at 7 p.m. Students currently receiving instructions for communion will receive their First Holy Communion during the 7 p.m. worship service. Good Friday Tenebrae service will be held at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday worship with Holy Communion will be held at 8 and 10 a.m. There will be no Sunday School Power House classes on Easter.The church phone number is (610) 377-4303.
