St. John's Heights events

The program for this week's soup and scripture at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will be presented by Gene Connelly. This week, he will portray Pontius Pilate. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with noodle soup and desserts.Joan DeAcetis will lead the Women's Bible Study group of the church at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7 in the Good Shepherd room of the church. The group is studying the Book of Acts.Girl Scout Sunday will be observed at the church, during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The Rev. Muhr, pastor, will have a special sermon for the young people attending the service.Soup and SessionSt. Mark's/St. John's Episcopal Church, Race Street, will have "Soup and Session" this Wednesday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of the church. The topics for the weekly sessions follow the events of Holy Week through and including, the crucifixion and descent.
