Two Tamaqua residents among 22 to enter guilty pleas; sentenced

Two Tamaqua residents were among 22 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin.

Roccia Schuima III, 34, of 248 Brown St., possession of drug paraphernalia, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, and perform 10 hours community service. He was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Karl Harig, after responding to the residence for a drug overdose.Tonya Nicole Braun, 21, of 214 Pine St., Apt. 2, retail theft from Family General Store, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 20 hours of community service. Braun was cited by Tamaqua Cpl. Corporal Henry Wood.Other pleasAmber Michelle Marek-Jolley, 24, Pottsville, entered a plea of nolo contender (no defense) to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, sentenced to serve one to 23 months in the county prison. She has served 44 days and was released on parole, pay $100 to SAE fund, perform 20 hours of community service, make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, and $85 to Minersville police. She made a sale to a confidential informant.John Joseph Pete III, 22, West Hazleton, indecent exposure, given credit for spending 31 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 23 months and pay $50 to CJEA fund. Carey.Anthony Joseph Iacovitti, 40, Pottsville, possession of drug paraphernalia, sentenced to serve 14 days to 12 months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Wednesday, March 20, at 9 a.m., pay $100 to SAE fund, a fine of $200, and perform 20 hours community service. He was cited by Walker Township Officer Todd R. Woodward, when stopped on Kettle Road.Darwin Gregory Knight Jr., 21, Pottsville, criminal conspiracy to obtain a controlled substance, placed on probation 23 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, and perform 20 hours of community service. Bowers.Jennifer Tess Kramer, 35, Pottsville, failed to furnish a drug free urine sample to her probation officer and was placed on probation for 12 months which is to begin when she completes a 23 months probation sentence imposed by Judge Charles M. Miller in November 2011 for obstructing law officers from carrying out their duty. She also must pay $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 20 hours of community service.Alex J. Fogarty, 23, Lost Creek, West Mahanoy Township, delivery of a four baggies of heroin for $80 to a confidential informant, sentenced to serve 13 to 26 months in a state correctional facility, pay $100 to SAE fund, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Fogarty was cited by West Mahanoy Township Chief Shawn Tray.Katrina Joy Beesley, 27, Pottsville, failing to furnish drug free urine to probation officer, placed on probation for 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 20 hours community service.John W. Goetz Jr., 46, Cressona, violation of public welfare, placed on probation 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, perform 25 hours community service, and make restitution of $1,362 to Department of Public Welfare.James John Ney, 51, Pottsville, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, sentenced to serve two to five years in a state correctional facility. On a charge of DUI of alcohol fined $1,500 and pay $100 to MCARE fund, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, and receive intensive outpatient treatment.On a charge of driving while his license was suspended-DUI related, was fined $1,000 and given a concurrent 90 days prison sentence.On summary charges of failing to have a valid inspection certificate on his vehicle and driving an unregistered vehicle was fined $25 each plus $100 in costs. His sentence begins Tuesday, March 5. Lehman was cited by Pine Grove Patrolman Christopher Taylor.Dustin Lee Kessenger, 30, Pottsville, DUI of alcohol, sentenced to serve 90 days to five years in the county prison, fined $1,500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to MCARE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, attend safety school, receive outpatient counseling, and perform 40 hours community service. On a summary charge of driving without a license was fined $200; and failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic fined $25 plus $100 in costs. Kessenger was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Paul R.
