West End Rotary Club will hold a club assembly at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 28 with a breakfast meeting at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville.School boardThe Pleasant Valley School Board will meet at 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, at the district office in Brodheadsville.Monroe SeniorsThe Monroe Seniors will meet at Zion Lutheran Fellowship Hall, Brodheadsville, at 9 a.m., Friday, March 1, and Friday, March 6. Attendees should register with center manager, Doris Phillips.Evening worshipZion Lutheran will hold a 5 p.m. worship service on Saturday, March 2. The community is welcome.Chestnuthill PICPride in Chestnuthill will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 14, at the Chestnuthill Township Municipal Building on Route 715. The group will discuss and set up spring clean up field days. Community residents are invited to help keep the township, clean and green.Residents can pick up one of the township's recycling center and transfer station brochures at the township building or the recycling center on Hillcrest Drive. The brochure is packed with information to help residents dispose and recycle unwanted household goods and waste. The club meets the second Friday evening and fourth Saturday morning of the month.Club members congratulate all the Monroe County 4-H members who entered projects in the state Farm Show, especially Lee Ann Bachman, Mary and Sarah MacIntire, Julie Sobers and Matthew and Megan Stock, who all won ribbons.For those interested, there are many 4-H clubs in Monroe County including cattle, collecting, cooking, dog, gardening, horse, insects, photography, poultry and sewing. For information, call the Penn State Cooperative Extension at (570) 421-6430.Celebrating 250In 1763 Chestnuthill Township was established as a township. At its inception the township consisted of Eldred, Polk, Ross as well as the present Chestnuthill. All are involved in celebrating those 250 years.The historical societies, townships, organizations, businesses, fire companies, library, school and residents of the West End will host a celebration, which will include a parade at the West End Fairgrounds, the week end of Sept. 7.A history of the West End is being published.
