State police at Frackville are investigating the theft of a state vehicle registration plate.

Troopers said the plate was taken from the 2001 Kia Sportage of Ronald F. Farrell, 58, of 147 Meadow Lane, Tamaqua, Walker Township, while parked near his home. The theft occurred sometime between Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 10. The plate number is DJG4936.
