Penn Forest Township meeting canceled due to lack of quorum

A special meeting of Penn Forest Township board of supervisors that was advertised to take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning was canceled by township supervisor Alan Katz due to lack of quorum. Katz said the meeting was canceled until further notice.

The meeting had been advertised for general purposes.The only other supervisor attending the aborted meeting was Christine Fazio. The other three supervisors, Judith Knappenberger, Warren Reiner and Paul Montemuro, chairman, did not attend.There were four residents in attendance. One resident was the former secretary, Mary Ann Lewellyn, who said she was not reappointed during the reorganizational meeting and wanted some answers.Lewellyn said that she was the sixth secretary to work for Penn Forest Township since 2010.Katz also noted that no action was taken on the resignation of Paul Montemuro as chairman. Montemuro had tendered his resignation as chairman at the Feb. 4 meeting. He said that he will remain as a supervisor.
